I use this every fall when it's time to bring my potted plants that had been sitting outside for the summer inside for the winter. It does a great job of killing off any little bugs that your plant might have picked up outside - and it kills any eggs that might be incubating in the soil.
I won't use it for blooming plants outside, though, because it works by making the entire plant toxic to bugs (and most other things). Therefore it would kill a honeybee or a bumblebee just as much as an aphid or mealybug. So I'll use it on my African violets that live inside my windowless office, or on my gardenias/jasmine/heliotrope that summer outside but only just as I bring them inside. The honeybees are having a hard enough time as it is!
This granular systemic insecticide also has the HUGE advantage over the liquid versions of being odor-free. Trust me - you really don't want to be breathing in the liquid stuff.
It can take a few weeks to work - the granules need to dissolve into water that gets sucked up by the roots and then needs to be absorbed in a concentration great enough to be fatal to any nibbling bugs. But it WILL work on all listed bugs as long as you follow the directions. I have used it for years and it's worked every time.
