Customer Review: Better than the others, but with caveats....

This chalk box has been great, but a few solid caveats before you go buy. 1. the gasket (o-ring) did not do its thing- dried out, shrunk, something, but 1 year into owning this the cap fell off all the time. A supplemental gasket made of old bike tire did the trick. 2. the size of this thing is quite large-larger than most others, and takes up a bit of your pouch. 3. other lines double, in pinch, for a rough plumb bob- this one should do the same.
All told, I would look somewhere else for another japanese chalk box, but if no other turns up, then this is your purchase.
Description of Tajima CR202B-P Chalk-Rite II Ultra Thin Chalk Box
Contractor-grade chalk snap-line w/100' (30M) ultra thin premium-grade braided line. Smooth gear-drive winding, up to 3 times faster than standard snap-lines. Compact, fits comfortably in palm of hand yet holds up to 1.6 oz. (45 g) of chalk. Durable, heavy-gauge die-cast aluminum case sealed with an elastomer gasket. Positive gear-lock line hold, automatically releases during rewind. Also features an folding crank, easy-fill spout, and a tool to facilitate line replacement.
