Customer Review: Accuracy Issues "Out of the Box"

Checking this thermometer in boiling water "out of the box", it read 207 degrees F. The needle on my thermometer is thicker than the one pictured, making it a bit more difficult to read the temperature (markings are at 5 degree intervals).

This analog candy, jelly, and deep fry thermometer for the serious chef features accurate temperature control, easy readability, and commercial quality and reliability. The large stainless steel dial face is easy to read and has coloured zones indicating the desired temperature ranges for confection and deep frying, as well as marks for candy soft ball, firm ball, hard ball, soft crack, and hard crack points. An adjustable clip allows the thermometer to be attached to the side of a pan.Capacity: 100 - 400°F in 2.5°F increments
