Being a mom of three crazy boys, I cannot say enough great things about my Lotus Santizer. Recently, my youngest son had a nose bleed, which had trailed onto my carpet as he ran up the stairs. The Lotus sanitizer took the stains right out!!! Even my husband, who was a little skeptical, was impressed. When my boys have minor cuts and scrapes that require disinfectant, I take the spray bottle with the Lotus Ozonated water, and apply it to clean out any bacteria. My kids love it because there are no "ouchies", which is always the case when you apply other disinfecting products. I also love how I can take all my fruits and vegetables, run it through the Lotus Sanitizer and know that my family is not ingesting harmful pesticides and chemicals. My relationship with my Lotus is a little like a long happy marriage. Yes, there are some bad times, maybe even some really, really bad times, but overall it is a good experience. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to clean my home (or, better yet, have my husband clean my home) without chemicals. In the past my lungs would always hurt for hours after cleaning because of the chemicals, and that was true even using "natural" products like Melaleuca or Simple Green. Now I can clean without pain. Well, except the pain of cleaning in general, which I hate, but I digress. I use the Lotus to clean fruit and veggies too, though not as religiously as I should. But it's nice to know your produce is actually clean and ready to eat when you take it out of the bowl or fridge.
So when did the honeymoon end? Well, we went through a period where the dang thing didn't work at all. It would F1, F1, F1 no matter what we did, with either attachment. We did everything recommend in the manual and on the website, with no luck. We called customer service, and did some more stuff they told us to do, and still the Lotus just faulted and faulted. We were just about ready to get a divorce from our Lotus (customer service authorized a return), when it suddenly saw the error of its ways and started working again. That was months ago and it has been fine ever since. Our theory is that there was some contaminant stuck in the sanitizing mechanism that eventually just worked its way out, but who knows. We were so happy to have it back that we nearly cried. (Actually, I'm pretty sure my husband did shed a tear, but he claims it was onions).
Some advice if you buy one, based on our experience: Always make sure the water is well below the line on either attachment before you charge it. Also, we would recommend charging a bowl of water first and THEN putting in the fruit and veggies to soak, as opposed to charging the water with the fruit/veggies already in the bowl.We think this might be a contributing factor in keeping the thing working.
Bottom line: we've had our Lotus for more than a year and it is great. We would definitely buy it again, faulting problems and all.
Oh, and we just finally bought the Lotus mop but haven't got it yet. Wish us luck.

It wasn't just me -- several people have visited and commented how great fruit tastes at our house without knowing anything about the product. I put all my fruits and vegetables in the unit when I first bring them home from the store. They say it neutralizes the pesticides and kills surface bacteria, and I believe it. It is like me giving my family the closest thing to organic without spending the money on organic! And it is truly amazing that it works with just plain tap water.
As a cleaner/disinfectant, it also works wonders. It cleans the mold/mildew in the bathroom, and takes stains out of the kids' clothes. I feel a lot better about not using all the typical chemical sprays and cleaners, especially with 3 small children in the house.

I love the product. I use it to take stains out of the cloth, clean the kitchen, clean the refrigerator, etc. I also used it to clean my dry clean only clothing. You can spray the collar and will save you from some of the trips to the dry cleaner. The only problem is the F1, we finally figured out you can not use the water from the tap, you need to use filtered water or distilled water. That eliminated the F1 problem, this is after I took 3 units back to the Sharper Image. My 4th unit got an F5 another return. I believe they went to market a little bit too early, they will fix the problems and then I will give the 5*sCustomer Review: I really wanted to love this...

We loved this at first. It lengthened the life of our fruits and vegetables. Then it broke. Water poured out of the base. We sent it back to be replaced. This happened twice. The third time, the company did not answer the phone, nor e-mails. When I finally got through, they said they had no record of our previous interactions, and that it is now out of warranty.
I read that the model we bought is doomed (LBU100). It is too bad that those who bought this model is also doomed. This was about to be one of my favorite appliances, next to my Vita Mix. I've "sold" many Vita Mixes to my friends by my glowing reports. Now I've had to retract my words to my friends for this product.
I can't wait until another company makes this kind of product that "works." I would have had a lot more tolerance if they had just stood by their product. As I said, I wanted to love this. I would have persevered longer.
