I absolutely love this light. It is the strongest searchlight I've ever seen! This new kind of search light far and away out-performs the old kind of searchlights I had around the house. I've bought about a dozen of them now, but this one is the strongest and most useful of them all. The 52 LCD lights really intensify the power of the light and they use very little battery power. I have discarded all my old-fashioned searchlights because whenever I would go to use them, often the battery would be dead or dying. Not this one! This one is always ready to go! Well made for price. Metal body and head. LED's are well protected. Good quality push button switch. Is VERY bright! Painful if pointed at someone's eyes at close range. Casts a flood-light broad beam, distance at least 50 feet with good illumination. Solid feel with batteries in place. Have not noticed significant " battery rattle " others have noted. Hoping that the LED low power consumption will result in long battery life. Was looking for a hand held flood light to walk the dogs at night, this light is performing well.Customer Review: I love this flashlight

This is a great flashlight, it is very brilliant, and runs a long time on 3 D batteries. When loaded with batteries it is a bit heavy. We got one from Amazon directly (sold by Amazon) then two a few weeks later shipped by Amazon but provided by a 3rd party. The 3rd party units are black not silver, but seem otherwise to be made of aluminum, have 95 LED bulbs and what not.
When walking in woods on a dark night, these are great to have. I ordered backups in the event any family member was walking in our local park and needed assistance. This way they'd have a good flashlight to walk and one or two people could go looking for them in the event of an emergency. Our cell phones have a remote GPS locater, so we'd know within a few yards where the individual was if they had cell service. If not, we'd hope these brilliant flashlights could serve as an emergency beacon.
It is unusual to hold a metal flashlight these days. Power is via an on / off toggle button. Depress once for on, again for off. The construction seems to be very good.

I have read a lot of the negative reviews here and own this light and love it. Most of the negative reviews are regarding the user's expectations that this is not a focused beam product.
Well guess what folks? This is not nor is it meant to be a spot light. A sawed off double barrel shotgun has different uses than a sniper rifle and that is the best analogy I can provide. This is a saw off shot gun it is meant to broadcast the light over a short distance like when you are walking your dog at night and you don't want to step on a rattle snake or trip over something
