Tools and Hardware Reviews of Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025Customer Review: A great little snow thrower Summary: 4 Stars
Bought this based in part on the reviews on this site. I tried it out this weekend on some two-week-old piles of snow sitting around in the nether regions of our driveway after the last big snowfall . . . the stuff that has congealed and is all crusty to walk over . . . stuff you'd never think about shoveling. This puppy ate it up and spit it out with no problems whatsoever. It did not break through the layer of ice that had formed at the bottom of the snow, but you can't expect miracles. I'd give it a "5" except I think some people would have problems keeping track of the cord. I'll take that over mixing gas and oil and worrying about fouled plugs any day.
Customer Review: A great snow blower Summary: 5 Stars
I am a first time homebuyer and this is my first winter in Massachusetts as a homeowner. I bought this snow blower over thanksgiving and I think it has already paid for itself. It can easily take care of 1 ft of snow. It is light and also easy to assemble. Electric cord may get entangle. Buy cord storage wheel, if your driveway is long. I am very satisfied with it.
Customer Review: A life saving machine Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this product for our sister-in-law who lives in Lincoln,NE because we were concerned with her having to shovel so much snow. She never would have bought a snow thrower for herself. We now get an e-mail every time it snows with her rave reviews about her Toro Snow Thrower. She even convinced her two friends to buy one. It was one of the best purchases we ever made!!
Customer Review: A replacement for a gas powered snow throweer Summary: 5 Stars
I am absolutely thrilled with the new electric snow thrower. It may take a little longer to clear everything, but I couldn't handle the gas powered snow thrower very easily and it usually wouldn't start unless I brought it in the house to warm up. The electric one even ate through the snow at the end of the driveway where the town plows piles of snow so I can't get out of my driveway.
Customer Review: A true winner Summary: 5 Stars
This is my second winter with this snow blower, after coming in from using it just now I had to post a rave! So far it has saved me countless backbreaking shovelfuls of snow. It can easily handle 6" snow falls and can nibble and wear down up to a foot of snow for a few running feet. It even handles the heavy stuff that the snowplows throw up at the end of my driveway. (Sometimes in heavy stuff the output pipe clogs - it takes but a second with it not running - to punch the clog back down. No problem!)
I don't have a garage, and don't want to store gasolene in my basement, so this is perfect. Each storm I do have to haul it up the basement stairs, but it is light and has a handle right above its center of gravity so this is not a problem. Its light weight means that out in the snow I can manouver it easily - even pick it up and set it down in a different direction.
I don't enjoy snowstorms, but this little guy has made them much easier!
