Tools and Hardware Reviews of Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

Customer Review: Absolutely the best little machine out there
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one these last December 2007 from Amazon Prime and could not be happier with it. I live in northern Vermont where it snows so much the town I live in plows all of the sidewalks. I look forward to snow storms now. Where it used to take up to 3 hours of back breaking work pushing a snow scoop to clear the snow from my driveway and parts of my yard I now have the job done in less than half an hour. Light, 25 pounds. Works every time. It will throw fresh snow at least 25 feet. Last winter I had to dig a path to my oil tank about 60 feet from the sidewalk through three and half feet of snow. With a shovel the job would have taken a couple of hours at least. With the Toro it took 15 minutes. I was facing the snow bank while standing on the sidewalk, I picked the unit up and tossed it out in front of me about four feet and pulled and pushed the machine back and forth until there was an 18 inch wide, four foot long, three and a half foot deep trench in front of me. I stepped into the end of the trench and repeated this procedure until I reached the tank. We had so much snow last winter I was volunteering to help clean out my neighbors driveways. Amazon Prime had the unit plus a 100 foot extension cord sitting on my back porch 26 hours after I placed the order for an extra $3.99.

Customer Review: Accolades from long-term owner
Summary: 5 Stars

Finally realizing the idiocy of lifting snow in 1990, I surveyed showthrower choices and came upon the ideal-looking Toro 1800. I remain enamored of it, as one of the best things I've ever bought. This compact unit has reliably dealt with all depths of snow over the years, including snow up to my waist in one storm. (Undercut the high snow with the thrower, give the snow a kick, and it collapses to the ground.) A be-prepared type, I bought spare parts from the dealer, just in case; but the unit has yet to need any maintenance (outside of recent replacement of its two little bottom steel skids, which I easily fabricated myself from scrap). I have a gasoline lawn mower, but do not want to deal with gas and oil in the winter; and why deal with all that in a very heavy, garage-consuming snowthrower when I can hang the capable 1800 on the wall? The cord is really no hassle: simply work outward, away from the outlet. People passing by still stop to ask about this remarkable snowthrower as they see it in action. I find the Toro 1800 wonderful for both me and the environment.

Customer Review: After 3 years of heavy use, it's still doing great! Some improvements possible though.
Summary: 4 Stars

After 3 years of Pennsylvania winters with this snowblower, I thought I'd come back and give some brief feedback. Overall, it's a great product and well worth the purchase. It's holding up well, and operating as well as it did the day I bought it.

I have some slight complaints about the spray nozzel tending to direct light snow way to high in the air, and lack of power for really wet snow (thus 4 stars). It generally works best if you don't let the snow get too thick (beyond 6 inches) before blowing. Clogs happen frequently otherwise.

Overall, I can snowblow my 60' of driveway clear of 6-inches of dry snow in about 15 minutes. No problems to report in 3 years. So, I have to say it's been well worth the money.

Customer Review: After a 5 inch snow.
Summary: 4 Stars

Soon after I received the Toro Snow Thrower we received 5 inches of snow. It did a wonderful job with only problem being a belt that slipped off. After I figured out how to put the belt back on, I have not further problems. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Customer Review: Amazing
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used it a few times to shovel snow and have no complaints. It's very powerful and easy to use.
