Tools and Hardware Reviews of Toro 1800 18-Inch 12 Amp Electric Curve Snow Thrower #38025

Customer Review: Amazon/Target did not deliver. Shop somewhere else.
Summary: 1 Stars

I Ordered the 1800 snow blower. Amazon did not reply to my e-mails when the order status showed "not shipped" even after the estimated arrival date had passed. After 4 weeks Amazon writes me a mail saying they cannot fulfill my order. By then all other stores were out of stock. Now I am stuck till next year. This sucks :-(

Customer Review: Assembly tip
Summary: 4 Stars

I did a lot of research before buying this snow thrower and saw the discharge chute assembly woes others had, so I paid particular attention to that when putting it together. The small carriage bolts that hold the assembly together fit into square indentations in the plastic chute so when tightening the bolt it could easily strip the plastic. What I did was hold the bolt head firmly seated into the indent while tightening and there was no problem. The manual discharge loft adjustment is smooth yet stiff enough that it isn't affected by the snow. I could see that if this connection is stripped, the bonnet would just flop around and become nearly useless.

Customer Review: Astonishingly poor construction
Summary: 1 Stars

Toro should be embarrassed to have their name on this thing. Don't let the picture fool you, the case and grips are made of the cheapest plastic imaginable. That's right, the red housing in the picture is cheap plastic, not even good plastic. Grabbing the handle one is met with squeaks of protest by the ill-fitting plastics moving against each other. I cannot say how the thing works; the manufacture is so poor I could not get parts lined up to attach the handle.
Let me put it this way--China must have outsourced its construction to some place with lower labor costs; if someone from China were to buy this, they're first reaction would be to ask, "who built this piece of junk?" Not recommended at all.

Customer Review: Awesome
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought it for the most recent snow storm to hit our area. It was 12-14 inches, and even though this blower is not optimal for that much snow - it did the job. Easy to store. Most of the snowfalls in our area are 4-6 inches, so this should be fine.

Customer Review: Awesome Little Machine!
Summary: 5 Stars

This little snow blower is very powerful and very lightweight to handle. The advertisements say that this snow blower can throw the snow up to 30 feet and they are not joking. I was snow blowing my driveway and I had to stop because I was throwing the snow across the street and into the field which is about almost 40 feet from my driveway. I was shocked that this little machine could throw it that far.

A slight down side is that it does not have a drive wheel so it gets caught on the ground while you are pushing it. Not such a big deal though.

This snow blower is ideal for the small area like a small driveway or a deck. I would not recommend this snowblower for the larger jobs though. It is fast, but you would end up getting tired fast by pushing it since it does not have a drive wheel.

All-in-all, this is a great machine for the ease of use, easy assembly and a great price tag.
