We hung this mailbox on the side of our house, over vinyl siding. I love it. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because it didn't come with any screws to hang it. Luckily we had some around the house that we could use.Customer Review: Mailbox

Mailbox was straightforward to mount on brick wall and looks nice. There is a privacy panel (to be mounted with adhesives inside the front panel of mailbox) that I did not install initially, then my friendly mailman put a note recommending that I put a plastic inside box to protect from rain, so I installed the privacy panel for that purpose. My only regret is that the box cannot be locked. But I think it is a good value; the other mailboxes I saw in stores and on line were either bland or very pricey.

The reviews for this mailbox were very positive so my expectations were high. I purchased two. They arrived nicely packaged (both mailboxes were boxed, then shipped in a larger box). The mailboxes are sturdy and attractive, nice finish, easy to install, so expectations were met. What I found odd was I made the purchase through Amazon, was told the products were sold and shipped by Target (so there was a substantial shipping cost), yet they came from [...]. The mailbox is sturdy and looks very nice. The privacy shield has already fallen down, but that's not really a big deal. Easy to install and great, big box for large pieces of mail.
