Customer Review: Good Detector, But Shame On Me Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent meter and I cannot fault the device for my mistake. People who are working on a tighter budget will find this a very good purchase. But, Trifield has this same meter that has an audible alarm and a knob on the side to adjust the threshold for the alarm that makes it much more useful for just a bit higher price. That would have been a much better choice for me, but it isn't listed on Amazon. I also own the Trifield Meter - Natural EM that has the alarm function added.
Customer Review: Good and usefull product Summary: 4 Stars
I did not hold for a while in my hands an electronic device with label "Made in U.S.A"! Wow! The device is made with good quality, convenient in use. I was able to find "bad" spots in my house with higher electro magnetic fields. Mostly generated by some electronics. I recommend this when choosing a place to leave or when relocating furniture in a house - just to make sure that you aere sleeping not in high EMF areas.
Cons: the price is pretty high, but I think it worth it since it can save your health. Also the documentation is pretty weak, I'd suggest to add a booklet with examples of measures: what you can usualy measure and what numers are good and what are bad.
Customer Review: Great tool for home and work Summary: 5 Stars
I had investigated buying one of these a year ago, but hesitated mainly due to cost. After finally buying it, I'm very pleased with it. The construction is no-frills, solid. It will probably last a century. In terms of function, other reviewers have pointed out some technical limitations, in comparison with high-end units. Those are probably valid, but don't seem to affect my type of usage (home, office).
It's been illuminating to see how some common devices at home are putting out EM radiation. As examples, nearly all tranformers (for cordless phones, cell charger, computers) have very high levels. The bedside clock radio next to my head has the highest levels I've registered on the unit. Interestingly, an old 1930's lamp next to my bed put out modestly high levels that dropped by flipping the prongs over in the outlet (was a non-polarized old plug). My 1960's oven and 1990's microwave are other sources that surprised me with their output.
In summary, nice quality, utilitarian unit that is ideal for home and office use for those that want to be educated about EM sources nearby.
Customer Review: High quality...easy to use! Summary: 4 Stars
It surprises me how many 'hotspots' there are in my home...a wonderful gadget that does everything the description says it does.
