I used these as backup batteries in AC powered smoke detectors in hard to reach places. Both detectors show that they are getting AC power. However, even as backup batteries, they lasted only 3 years. Whether this is due to the design of the detectors or a fault of the batteries is unknown, but it's dissapointing nonetheless. I can't comment on this particular battery, but I will comment on this subject generally. We have 7 smoke alarms in our house -- building code overkill. One of our ceilings is 14 feet high. There is much more danger that I will be seriously injured in falling off of a ladder by replacing that high ceiling battery once a year than I will be injured in a house fire. But no one thought of the big picture or asked me when they built my house. And when that high ceiling battery starts to chirp in the middle of the night because it is low, forget about getting any more sleep. And you will be in fine condition to climb a tall ladder in the morning.
Lithium batteries should last 5-7 years, so that means I subject myself to falling from a ladder to one-fifth or one-seventh as often compared to regular batteries. Just be careful. Radio Shack makes Lithium batteries, but they are larger than normal 9 volt batteries and might not fit into your device.

What can you say about a battery whose life is defined by how long it takes its owner to suck the life out of it until it becomes a lifeless rectangle of metal? The company I purchased it from shipped it out immediately. It appears to have a full charge. Obviously, I will not know if it will last until the expiration date on the battery, until that date passes, but I am hopeful. Seriously, this lithium battery allows a person to avoid changing the 9 volt battery in their smoke detector for about 10 years, a major convenience and safety factor! Normally, the cost of the these special long life batteries are prohibitively expensive and hard to locate, but the low cost of this offer makes its purchase a no brainer! I highly recommend this battery and this company. (Okay, I wrote what you wanted. Let my first born go. Please!)Customer Review: Nowhere near 10 years !!

Lasted just over a year, which for the price is not a good deal at all ! I've hoped it would last at least several.
