I was looking for a place to store more books, without having room to add another bookshelf. This was perfect! These things are freaking cool. What's better than organizing your books and getting them off the floor? Having them "float" in midair. I used two of these in my media room to keep some of my regularly referenced reading material. I wanted something unique and these things delivered. I get positive comments all the time about my wall shelves. My friends like it and my books are secure when "hanging out."
I used wall anchors to hang them as a stud was not available where I wanted to mount them. Thus far (four months later), they are maintaining the weight load with no problems (about 15 pounds on each unit). The only reason I gave four stars is that you can't place larger books on them without some flex and potential instability. Think textbooks that are over eight inches wide. My large Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining textbooks cause the shelves to flex downward and potentially dump the books onto the floor. If the base were about three inches longer and the metal a bit thicker it would work, but they are what they are. They are great conversation pieces and utilitarian.

I love these invisible book shelves. They are a unique way to display books or use hardbacks as a decoration. They are very easy to install and hold a considerable weight. I currently have 5-6 books stacked per shelf.Customer Review: Love Umbra!

These make a wonderful, cheap way to decorate a wall and store books. Since we needed both it worked great! We needed four, so keep in mind how big your wall is. My husband loves the Umbra product too. That is the ONE thing he will go crazy over in a store, and buy everything they have.
