So I purchased this assuming that it would work in Italy with my (adaptable) laptop (grounded plug). Well, the first outlet I tried didn't fit this...but the next 2 did. All in all, Italian plugs are hit-or-miss with this. It IS larger than the standard plugs for southern europe, but I've found it oddly works on many (without jamming it into the wall). Cheap, useful, small. Cannot complain!Customer Review: Beware

I bought this adapter for my trip to Switzerland so I could recharge camera batteries. In spite of it being sold as a European adapter, the prongs didn't fit. They were too big. This adapter may work for some European countries, but not for Switzerland!Customer Review: Cheap and good

I bought this before I went to Germany. The first day I tried using it with my hair dryer...it fried my hair dryer. It didn't seem to be "converting" the voltage so much as just allowing for the hair dryer to be plugged in. Did I miss something in the instructions? I could hear my hair dryer running about twice as strong as it normally does, then smelled something burning...then, no more hair dryer. Maybe this thing is only to be used with electronics that have the option of switching to a lower voltage? I'm just glad it was my hair dryer that got fried and not my camera battery. The title says it all. These adapters did not work AT ALL - did not fit into any of the outlets in Italy where we stayed. I wound up buying new ones in Italy.
