I bought this adapter so I could use electronic devices with American plugs in France. It fits well into round grounded European schuko sockets, but will not fit into the smaller recessed non-grounded sockets I was surprised to find in many places. If you only use non-grounded American plugs, the smaller non-grounded adapter will be more versatile as it will fit in all sockets.Customer Review: Great plug adapter

We have a friend that lives in Germany that recommended this plug to us. We have traveled to Germany,Austria and Hungary 3 times and this little plug works just great. We have used it to charge our camera,Kindle and to use our netbook without any problems.It also worked for us in Venice,Italy.
We had to buy a separate plug for Switzerland which uses a 3 prong plug not a 2 prong plug..
The only problem was we bought 6 to take on our European vacation and returned with only one! We kept on leaving them behind! Thank goodness they didn't cost too much. Keep the plug on the ends of everything that you are using on your trip when you take it out of the electrical outlet. This way you won't leave your plugs behind.Buy one for everything you are using on your trip.

These were a lifesaver in our recent trip to Spain. We brought two different types of European adapters, but only this one worked (and it was much cheaper). It fits nicely into the recessed plugs we found in our Spanish hotels, and accepted both polarized and grounded US plugs.
