Customer Review: Doesn't quite fit our needs

We bought this product to replace a Garrity spotlight that had served us well for several years.
Pros: It's very lightweight with a comfortable ergonomic grip.
Cons: It would be better if there was a way to lock it into one of the three power levels. Having to click the button three times to get full power is nothing but an annoyance - we want full power immediately when checking on noises out in our horse pasture. Plus, as other reviewers have stated, recharge time is too long, and the battery life is far less than our previous spotlight.

In terms of reliability, the VEC's anodized aluminum body and sealed battery make this an extremely durable product. Plus, it's rechargeable, and it has a battery status indicator so you'll know when it's time to plug it back in. A three-position dimmer switch allows you to use only the amount of power you need for the task at hand.
The VEC is comfortable to hold, thanks to the pistol grip, and feels solid without being too heavy for comfort.
