Tools and Hardware Reviews of WORX GT WG150.1 10-Inch 18-Volt 2-In-1 Cordless Electric Grass Trimmer/EdgerCustomer Review: A piece of worthless junk! Summary: 1 Stars
I wish I had read more reviews before buying this worthless tool. I wish I had mailed it back right away. But by the time I had used it, it was to late to send it back. And (from where I live) returning large items like this is such an ordeal. I would gladly give it away, but I am sure no one wants it?
It is worthless with NO POWER AT ALL! It has been thrown off in a corner in the garage (deemed useless) Don't waste your money on this expensive piece of junk! I will NEVER! I repeat NEVER! purchase anything from this company again!!!
I'm thinking on a scale of 1-10 that one is the lowest score I can give it.
Customer Review: A very poor choice for a trimmer to actually use Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this tool for the convenience of battery operation. The Worx surely has this convenience in spades; and its telescoping and multiple handle and trim head positioning features worked flawlessly. I expected it would not be as powerful a large gas model, but to be suitable for my grassy driveway cut. Since it is advertised as an edger as well as a trimmer, I expected it to handle grass trimming easily. Its power however is miniscule. It chokes down in grass much thinner than in most lawns. The line invariably binds in the spool negating its design to auto feed the line as needed. One actually must shut off, turn the unit upsidedown and remove the very small spool to unbind the line and feed it manually. Most of the parts of the business end of the unit are of light plastic and give no confidence on wear life. This unit is suitable for only the lightest and thinnest grasses, and not for edging at all except perhaps for the airiest sandy soil (which my Carolina clay is not). I have an orange garage decoration, and the job of finding a good small gas powered unit.
Customer Review: ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Summary: 1 Stars
The WORX product is alright, although the mower arrived with minor damage (poor packaging). The customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with.
After purchasing my WORX mower and grass trimmer through Amazon, I eventually needed to purchase more trimmer spools and opted for the "free" spools program (paying only shipping) offered directly from WORX customer service. In the same order, I also purchased a device from them that allows you to store the grass trimmer and it's battery on the wall of your garage.
After being charged as expected, two weeks past with no product. I contacted their customer service and was informed both products (spools and trimmer device) were on back-order but would ship in 24 to 48 hours. After another week passed, I called again and was transferred to a supervisor who sounded like he was reading from a script. He admitted the spools had not been on back-order but could not explain why I was lied to previously. He could not tell me when my order would ship saying that it was "in process". He then offered a to wave the shipping cost as though that would fix not being able to use my $100 WORX grass trimmer without the spools they sell. This supervisor then assured me he would forward my "case" to upper management and I would receive a call within the 72 business hours. It's been eight days and I've not received a call. It's been over 4 weeks since I placed the order.
Though it's for a small amount of money (less than $25), WORX customer service has essentially stolen my money and falsely advertised in selling me a product I can't obtain and they won't (or as this supervisor said to me, he "can't") tell me why!
I assume others are receiving the items they purchase from WORX. I have no idea why they can't solve my issue. I'm sincerely amazed at the incompetence and inability of this company's customer service and therefore highly recommend all consumers consider purchasing lawn products from one of WORX's competitors instead (try Black and Decker). If this is any example of how WORX is willing to do business then they deserve to go out of business. Buyer beware.
Customer Review: Amazing Power for a Cordless Summary: 5 Stars
I was a little leary about purchasing one of those "as seen on t.v." lawn tools, but this little number really packs a punch! The battery lasts a long time too! The multiple direction handle really helps with tight places-- though I haven't gotten the complete hang of the edging feature just yet. Great product and I feel worth the price.
Customer Review: Another infomercial ripoff Summary: 1 Stars
After watching the infomercial I was excited about getting the WORX trimmer/edger. The excitement wore off fast after using it. The line kept breaking as trimer and edger. My two sons work in landscaping and pronounced it junk after using it,also. I bought a used gas edger for $70.
