Watching the infomercials about Worx GT I was hooked, but not until I researched a little more. I read the reviews about this product by others and some gave me doubt about it's perfomance. Some were positive and I tried to read in between the lines of both the positive and negative reviews. That said, I bought it. Got it out of the box, charged the battery and the next day took it for a test run. It's great! It's just what I was looking for in a trimmer. It's lightweight construction is very easy on my 50+ year old body. It seems to be built well enough to take a little abuse of what would happen in normal trimming. I can understand how people who need to trim larger weeds would have some issues, but for normal yard work, this really is the ticket. No cords to unwind, untwist or cut. No cranking to start the thing. As I said, it's perfect for my 1 acre yard. So far the battery holds it's charge over a week to ten days without recharging even after doing about 35 minutes of trimming. I recommend the Worx GT 10!

Customer Review: Doesn't cut - even simple grass

I have had this unit for years. I charged up the battery overnight and the next morning was ready to go and it did not cut anything. I switched out the battery thinking maybe the 1st battery just wasn't working strong enough to cut and with the 2nd battery it cut for about a minute then nothing. I'm talking simple grass. I have grabbed it a few times since then thinking, "OK this time it is going to work" and nothing. It came with lifetime supply of cutting cord and now I know why, I will never use the 1st spool that came with the trimmer. Worthless! Just taking up space in my garage!Customer Review: Don't buy this!!!!!!

The Worx cordless weed trimmer/edger is not effective in trimming anything much stronger than jonathan grass. It barely makes it's way though fescue, and certainly doesn't make it's way though any weeds on my property. The battery only lasts 20 minutes. The plastic protector fell off five minutes after I tried it.
If you have a small bit of property and are basically cutting grass and trimming grass, this would probably be sufficient for you. It's definitely light weight and easy to start and manage. And frankly, if you have such small property, 20 minutes would probably do it for you. But if you are truly cutting weeds, this is not going to work for you.
The worst part about it is customer service: EXTREMELY LONG WAIT TIMES to do returns. The times I've spent on hold are as follows: day 1 45min+, day 2: 40 min, day 3: 30 min, and after 20 minutes on day 4 I finally got a hold of someone at WORX named "kristin" who processed my return, and told me my refund would reflect on my account 24 hours after they received my return. Not so...
So I called back, and didn't bother waiting past 15 minutes. But I was able to access them via their live chat on their website, where "jonathan" told me that Kristin was mistaken and that refunds took 7-10 days after the return was received. Put me on internet "hold" for a few minutes to research it and said my return would reflect on my account in 3-5 business days.
Not worth it guys! Buy another product!!!

Before buying this call the 800 number and see how long it takes to get through. Go online and write anything on their response page and see how long it takes to call (if you get one). We have had our weed eater for a month and it has worked for less than 20 minutes. We found that the battery doesn't work. We immediately called and they sent us another battery (it took 2 weeks.) It was the wrong model number, wrong battery. I called back and finally got through, the customer service rep told me another one was ordered and was on its way. I recently called b/c I got no confirmation email and it had never been ordered. As far as I am concerned, I own a piece of junk. It has not worked enough to finish my front yard. The company stinks. Not all its cracked up to be. Its just a cordless trimmer, and not a GREAT one at that. Battery life is much shorter than the rated 1 hour, I get about 15 minutes out of mine. The highly touted multiple configurations are not all that useful. If you can afford a cordless trimmer from one of the major manufacturers, find one with good reviews and but it instead. I would not buy this one again, nor recommend it.
