Tool Review: Works great - not as quiet as I thought

I purchased this to replace an InsinkErator that was 10 years old, builder grade original to the house. I was hoping to upgrade in quality and noise as my old one was 1/4hp and noisy. I opted for the 9930 over the cheaper, same horse power 9920 as it seemed to have a little bit better insulation. Not really sure if the extra $15 was worth it as I can't compare it against the 9920, however I can say it is not much quieter than my old disposal. I kept telling my wife how quiet I thought this one was going to be and we were both disapointed when it pretty much sounded the same. To be fair the disposal does do a good job of taking care of whatever is thrown down and a definate improvement over the old builder grade one. Bottom line if you are hoping to get a quiet disposal to replace the common InSinkErator, I don't think this is it, however if you are looking for a disposal that does a good job at a price less than the local box stores this will work.
