Seriously, if you read any other reviews that are bad about this pump, just disreguard them. The only way I can imagine this did not get 4-5 stars from everyone that used it would be b/c they didn't use it in the mannor is was intended.
I used this clear the water off my pool cover (there was a lot of water) and attached the 1-1/4" 25" Wayne fast removal hose and the job was done in no time. This not only removed the water, but most of the small debris, leaves, etc that had accumulated over the winter with no problem and almost no clogs (until I got to the very end when there wasn't much water left).
It comes with a garden hose adapter and an additional 1-1/4 adapter for faster removal, but I tested it to the limit and bought a larger 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" adapter for about $2-bucks at the hardware store for even faster removal and it worked great with 1-1/2 Wayne hose (buy them both together so you don't have to come back later to buy it). Since this pump is designed for fast water removal the garden hose attachment limits it's effiency to remove water as fast as you'd probably like.
If you have stationary water anywhere in need of removal fast, buy this pump here. Don't bother with Lowes, Home Depot or Menards, I priced them all and this is 1/2 the price for more pump. You won't be disapointed.
