I recently moved into a new efficiency apartment which I am in the process of redecorating. Because of it's size, I could not use a full size ladder and this step stool fits the bill perfectly. This was heavier than I expected an aluminum product to me. I took a magnet and checked the entire frame and determined it's painted steel except for the plastic steps. So the Amazon description is false advertising, and this 223-6 step ladder is neither light nor rust proof. Of course, like just about everything, it's made in China. After reading the reviews of more than a dozen step ladders, we selected this one because the third step makes a huge difference in reaching the top of our cabinets. The steps are slip-resistant, and wide enough that my 4 year old can sit on the top step and "cook" at the kitchen counter. I also like the locking feature - you can easily tell if you have properly set the stool up before you step on it. And it folds down (not quite as easily as I had thought it would) to take up minimal space when not in use. It is a very sturdy little ladder that I expect will last a very long time (we have had ours now for about 2 months).Customer Review: Kitchen Step-ladder

This is a bit bigger that I was looking for, but it sure does the job at reaching high places in my cabinets. It does fold flat, but is a bit difficult for me to fold after opening. This was a GREAT purchase. It is so sturdy and stable, easy to unfold, and it stores so perfectly behind the refridgerator. Me, my husband, and kids use it even more than we thought we would when we bought it. If it doubt, buy TWO! Good quality and value for the money!
