Customer Review: Dim and Blue

I had hoped to replace some 25 watt light bulbs with these, but they are much to dim and the light color is a distinct blue. Even with all five bulbs in place in the bathroom fixture, the bathroom was dark and "blue". A definite no. I have placed these in outside fixtures out back to provide a guide to the door. They are not bright enough for much else. Not a 25 watt bulb replacement; maybe a 10-15 watt equivalent, and then there is the distinct blue color of the light. Summary, I don't like it.Customer Review: Dim, but useful in some places.

I read all the reviews and expected this bulb to be dim. I wasn't disappointed. It is very dim, but it worked where I wanted it: in my garage opener. The incandescent bulbs were burning out every few weeks, so I am very hopeful these will last longer as well as consume much less energy. They are worth the $10 I paid, but not the $29 list price. I had great hopes for our first LED bulbs - I bought 2 - specifically targetting them for our most used zone, our breakfast nook.
Unfortunately, these are...dim bulbs. Too dim to replace the CFLs we use now. I did not object to the blue color.
I had a back up plan, and we tried a bulb in our motion-detector front door light (only 1 bulb) but that was also too dim, not enough light for this location either.
The final step in the plan (and last chance) was to put these bulbs in our refrigerator, replacing the 2 incandescents inside (inside!) the cooling compartment. Finally, success! Our fridge takes 2 bulbs, and the 2 I bought provide just enough light and Vastly Less heat inside.
Bottom Line: These are dim, dimmer then you would think. You can find a use for them, but be prepared to keep trying locations until you are satisified.

I got this to put in the hallway since my daughter LEAVES THE LIGHT ON ALL THE TIME. At 3 watts I won't complain about the light being on any more.
The cons: They are a bit pricey, but I waited for a sale. The color is very blue, but it doesn't bother me.
The pros: Only 3 watts and 50,000 hour bulb life. No mercury like in CFLs. Cool to the touch.
These are very good bulbs if you know what to expect up front. I intend to buy more.

I purchase two of these bulbs, one is much brighter than the other and flickers. Both bulbs are dimmer than advertised and have a very, very strong blue color. These bulbs are about as bright as a 4 watt incandescent bulb but with a blue color. The only application that this MIGHT work for is an inaccessible location that it is very hard to change the bulb and you want a very dim blue colored light- otherwise DONT buy. To save energy the compact fluorescents are a Much better choice. But with a 3-4 watt bulb the old night light bulbs, I use mine with an adaptor to fit in standard fixture does great and still uses so little energy. After this purchase, I realized I was being penny wise and pound foolish- they are going back to Amazon.
