It hard to tell about water filter either it is working or not. I feel better to have it. I found this is one the reasonably priced store.
4396510 is newer model of 4396508 and "p" means "pack".

Saw cheaper brands, and did comparison research on what contaminants the off-brands filtered vs. the Whirlpool. If you're concerned about filtering heavy metals and chems out of your drinking water, the Whirlpool "cyst reducing" filter has better filtration specs than the cheaper off brands. Amazon's price was as cheap as any other place i could find--cheaper than most.Customer Review: Perfect fit, great filters, but Whats with the PRICES?

I cant really review a filter - it does its job and it does it well. WE use it in our Kenmore unit and thus I have nothing to complain about.
My only gripe with this and with every other filter....whats with the prices? I cant imagine these cost so much to manufacture.
All that aside.....these are 10/10 in my book.
They are more expensive at k-mart or sears and Amazons shipping/cost savings/no tax saves a few bucks....
