I ordered this product and arrived about a week later. The problem is that is that the flimsy box arrived completely torn, and pieced together with tape. It was ripped on both sides, and on top. This is not a box suited for shipping. The tool inside has not padding, and I'm sure it was banged a lot during shipping. Haven't snowed yet, so couldn't try it on snow. It does turn on though. Don't buy the combo with the extension cord, since they don't fit together. The Cord Outlet Receptacle in the machine is smaller than the Coleman extension cord end, so you can't plug it in. I had to return that extension cord, and get another one at Home Depot. In summary, no complains about the machine yet (I hope it works, but the shipping sucks, and the extension cord Amazon suggests you buy, does not fit.

I live in Baltimore, MD where we just had the Blizzard 2010, which dropped
3' to 5'(yes FEET) of snow throughout the city.
I had to make several passes across the snow, a few layers at a time.
The Yard Machine Snow Fox cleared the snow down to the patio and roadway.
For an electric machine, I was surprised, but very happy too.
I highly recommend it to anyone who doesn't need a big gas snow blower,
but still wants a good machine to clear snow.

I had the pleasure of using this snow fox when we had 12 inches of snow and drifts up to 20-24 inches. My son came over with his Snow Fox to dig me out and wasn't sure if it could handle the deeper snow. To our surprize it cleared the entire drive with only slight adjustment on our part to take a few inches at a time. It was easy to push due to the light weight of the equipment and I can't wait for another snow to use MY Snow Fox. I ordered it the next day after our use on the 12 inches and it came within the week. I would recommend it to any of you single ladies who may or may not have a kind son to assist in an emergency. I purchased the Snow Fox yard machine for my husband for christmas. We have used it twice and we think it works very good as long as you throw the snow straight. Does not throw well to the sides.Just finished cleaning 10 inches of snow. Had to take half swipes due to the deep snow, but, I think it will work very well with snow up to 6 inches.I would recommend this to my friends.Customer Review: Buy now pay later

I purchased the MTD Snowfox for light amounts of snow. It works well handling several inches of snow. I have owned it for one season, and had to order parts from MTD Parts Direct - a new "scraper bar" $24, and new "auger" $46, and $15 for shipping.
Expect to order a replacement scraper bar rather soon as the soft plastic wears down easily on cement. The unit will begin to leave a thin layer of snow as it passes over the ground. If you let this go too long, you will wear down the auger as well, limiting effective snowthrowing and causing vibration. It will take about 1/2 hour and basic tools to replace both.
