Tools and Hardware Reviews of Yard Machines 31C-040-800 Snow Fox 12.5-Inch 8.5 Amp Electric Snow ThrowerCustomer Review: I'm Very Pleased!! Summary: 5 Stars
I got this as a Christmas present and had my first opportunity to use it a few days ago. I have to say it does what it says it will. I cleared my entire driveway, front walk, and walk leading to my front porch in about 15 or 20 minutes. It does really throw the snow quite far when the chute is adjusted straight and not to the sides.
Customer Review: It does the job! Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my snow fox yesterday and, like many others, the box was in pieces. However, since the machine was not damaged I could care less what the box looks like. I cleared my 400 square foot deck in about 15 minutes. It throws the snow very well but will not work with hard crust, but then, it never claimed to. If you want to move some snow, this is the machine to do it with. It is quiet and efficient.
Customer Review: It laughs at snow and your neighbors' equipment Summary: 5 Stars
It laughs at snow and your neighbors' garage impinging equipment. I hang it on pegboard and it takes up barely more room than a shovel. I have used it on snow that is taller that the whole machine and it took it with aplomb, which not to say it was fast when taking on 14 inch snow drifts: I was shaving off only about 1/3 width slices, but how often do you get 14 inches of snow in one night? It can be easily operated with one hand when taking on snow of 5 or 6 inches or less. It's quite convenient to pick up and use it like a shovel, except, of course, you don't have to throw the snow. I have a standard 2 car suburban drive way and it took me 1 3/4 hours to clear a 12-14 inch snow fall, which sounds like a lot of time, but when the snow is 5-6 inches, it only takes the amount of time to clear that it would take you to walk the rows. I don't find the cord to be a problem: I coil it at the top of the drive and row by row work my way down. I discovered that if you tilt the machine to the side slightly when taking on a drift, the snow falls into it much better and it takes much better advantage of the chutes.
Customer Review: It works until the time I can't return it Summary: 1 Stars
It looks as a descent machine and did its job 3~ 4 times. Even though I always have the trouble to start it (I need to push the button and lift and loose the bar to start it), I did figure out start it 5 times. But just after the 5th time after I finished the job. I can't start it any more. The expiration data is Jan 31,11 and it is dead in Feb 2,11. What a good design.
Customer Review: Just what I wanted. Summary: 4 Stars
The snow blower arrived 5 days after our historic 22" snowstorm in the D.C. area. I ordered it after spending two days clearing my 90 foot driveway. I tried it on a portion of my sidewalk which still had about 8-10 inches of old snow and cleared about 30 feet in less than ten minutes. Sure beats back breaking shoveling.
