Tools and Hardware Reviews of Youngstown Glove 03-3450-80-L Waterproof Winter Plus Performance Glove, Large, BlackCustomer Review: keeping your hands warm and dry Summary: 4 Stars
I am pleased with these gloves. I was looking for something to snowblow with. Something that would keep my hands warm and dry. While they are warm, I was hoping for alittle bit warmer. Work well as long as it's not freezing out. They definetly are waterphoof.
My hands never felt wet. The fit is nice. They are not bulkie which help in moving your fingers during the running of the machine.
I would recomend.
Customer Review: pretty good Summary: 4 Stars
My only two complaints are that they do not provide as much dexterity as my nomex gloves and they are not made in the US (minus 1 star - made in China.)
The goods - I put them under my faucet for a minute and applied cold water, the result being I could feel the water building up in the outer skin, but the inside remained dry.
These gloves are good for rough work where small component articulation is not required, and should serve well to protect me against freezing wind / rain (cycling.)
I purchased the XL which fit my hand, 8 1/2 inches from my wrist (crease) to the top of my middle finger.
Customer Review: worth the protection Summary: 5 Stars
I have been using this glove for three years now for light duty or general work. I didn't expect the gloves to perform, but it held up to mechanical work on a tank and uparmored vehicles. The glove is still windproof and holds up well to rainy conditions. I made this my tactical winter glove because it was easier to use on my gear. For winter work gloves, these are the way to go because I've used mechanix, craftsman, ergodyne, and ironclad gloves all of which are fine too.
Fit
I'm wearing an XL for my large hands, I wish the wrist cuff is longer to prevent heat loss. The downside of this glove is that it will not work if your hands are moist because the inner liner will be pulled out. Like I said, it's a general working glove, it should not be exposed to oil, the glove works in wet conditions. It has a useful soft terry cloth on the thumb to wipe my sweat. And it fits my large hands just fine.
Protection
Minimum protection, the top side of the glove has a soft corduroy fabric. The gloves works well for cold windy conditions, but if the climate drops more than -20 degs, it looses its effectiveness.
Weather resistance
mine has held up well to rain and snow, haven't lost any fingers to frostbite so that's good.
Recommended cold weather uses
construction, tactical operations, house work, commuting, machine operation, nice gloves for house mover's.
Do not expose these gloves to oils.
