I compared this to my old low price tester on a batch of used batteries. There is no doubt the MTB works MUCH better. I was hanging on to these batteries because the old tester was showing them good, but they wouldn't run toys. The MTB shows how much battery is remaining. I recommend you test a battery twice to confirm the reading in case you were not touching the contacts well the first time. My only complaint is that the method of contact is somewhat annoying, but is a minor inconvenience; after all, how often do you test batteries anyway?Customer Review: A real test of a small battery

The true test of a battery is to measure its voltage under a load. This is how car batteries are tested. This tester does just that, using an appropriate amount of load for the different types of batteries. I use this to match up rechargeable batteries so those that discharge a little faster are removed from the set. This is a great tool everyone should have one.Customer Review: As long as it will last.

Received quickly and in good order. As long as it continues to work like it does now I will be happy with it. I was concerned at some feedback indicating this unit failed after less than a year of use. It does what I was expecting but I beleive it should give a minimum of 5 years service life or longer.Customer Review: Awesome!!

I work in a theatre where we go through a ton of AA and 9V batteries in our wireless microphones and wireless clearcom beltpacks. At the start of each show, all of them have to have fresh batteries even though the old ones might not be completely dead. It's nice to be able to check the life of the used ones so that they can be used for rehearsals or in other devices. It's a great way to save money and prevent waste!
