I'm constantly amazed at the frailness of rechargeable batteries. The manufacturers claim an almost infinite life for these expensive little pieces of "green" technology but as a newspaper photographer, I keep finding them failing at the most awkward moments. The Mini Multi-Battery Tester finds those batteries that just aren't up to the task before failing at some critical time. I agree with all the other 5 star ratings...
but I wanted to add that since this item does not
charge, you will be in the market of a battery charger.
I believe the La Crosse BC900 is the better buy, but I
only wanted to add that the LaCrosse BC700 does not come
with a carrying case, and that the LaCrosse BC900 does come with
a carrying case...the carrying case has an EXTRA POCKET that
easily will carry this Mini Multi Battry Tester.

Although I am happy with the product I was not very happy with the company. A day or so after I ordered this item I decided to go directly to their website and found the same item I had just bought from them on Amazon for the same price but free shipping. I
e-mailed them about this and they never responded. So they got one sale from me but never again. I suggest that in the future you go directly to the sellers sight before buying through Amazon.

Great tester. Needs 4 AAA batteries to run. Once I found those, it works great. Make sure to test your batteries two or three times in order to get the most accurate reading.Customer Review: Great tester

I had an old battery tester that broke so I bought this as a replacement. It is much fancier than the one I had and seems extremely accurate. I was glad that although it runs on batteries it automatically turns itself off after you are done using it--this is good as my children wouldn't remember to turn it off.
