Tools and Hardware Reviews of ZTS Mini Battery Tester - ZTS MINI-MBTCustomer Review: Great tool, worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
I've been looking for a tester than I could feel confident in the results for awhile, I went though several cheap ones that didn't seem reliable. They would say a battery was 90% capacity and when tried in even the low load applications (tv remotes, wireless mice) They would die instantly. This tester has yet to let me down.
Customer Review: It delivers the result, I like it! Summary: 5 Stars
The meter is a small piece of device, I carried it to office and take it with me when I go on travel. It works very well for measuring different types of batteries, money well spent.
Customer Review: It nice! Summary: 5 Stars
This is realy nice tester! A clear scale showing battery life and easy to use. My battery storage was full different looking good batteries but unusefull. This tester helped to figuire out problem with empty batteries. Thanks.
Customer Review: Load testing Mini Multi is the ONLY way to go!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this tester on Feb. 3, 2010 and received it on the 6th. How's that for expediency in shipping?? I have nothing negative to say about this tester. I've tried a number of old and new batteries on it and have always come up with an accurate reading. But, for God's sake people, read the instructions first. They state more than once that you should test EACH battery 2-3 times for the most accurate readings. Batteries often play possum (especially older, seldom used batteries) by giving out a first reading which is actually higher than the true capacity, and vice versa. Under the 2 second load produced by the tester, your batteries will show their true capacitance, provided you follow instructions and test MORE THAN ONCE. In the 12 hours I've owned it, I've tested several dozen batteries of various types. I tested each 3 times. I just can't find any negative features about this item. PERIOD!!!!
Customer Review: Load testing is the best way to test batteries. Summary: 4 Stars
I first purchased an inexpensive battery tester that only checks the voltage. This was not useful at all. As noted by another reviewer, the battery voltage without load is a poor test of the battery. A bad battery can show almost full voltage. Load testing is the best way to test batteries. I find this unit works perfect on alkaline batteries.
I have found a problem with testing 1.2 volt NiMH AA and AAA rechargeable batteries. The battery tester showed a good charge and yet the batteries would not operate a device properly. I found that the old batteries would also not hold a charge. I suspect the tester should place a higher load when testing these batteries. If your rechargeable batteries are old, and do not show 100% after a week or two after a charge then replace them if they are not doing the job.
