This product will open clamshells as described, but it is very difficult to manage especially with poor hand strength. It required a great deal of effort on my part. However, the dangerous part happens when you accidentally push a button on the side and the knife pops into your palm. This has happened to me twice. Maybe it would not be a problem for others, but it is something I have to be wary of when I use it. I would not buy it again nor recommend it.Customer Review: Didn't work right out of the box

This is a great little device at a great price. I wouldn't use it to shear tin but it cuts through those tough HDPE plastic packages with very little effort. The hidden blade is useful to take off CD and DVD wrappers as well.Customer Review: Does the Job

I just happened to run across this product while browsing on Amazon and was happy to see I am not the only person who gets totally frustrated by the idiotic packaging employed by so many manufacturers these days. I didn't realize there are products designed specifically to chop open these plastic headaches and given the reasonable price and good reviews, I placed my order.
I have used this product 3 times so far, and each time it has worked well. It's not as easy as I thought because some of these plastic nightmare packages must have been intentionally designed to foil any attempt at opening them, but nevertheless none could resist the Zibra.
The Zibra is sturdy, colorful, and does what it was designed to do. I find it is very handy to have around. Even though I don't use it that often, I am happy knowing it is sitting in the drawer just waiting to tear open the next stupidly-packaged item I purchase.

This product does the job. It opens those annoying clamshell packages easily. I was slightly disappointed in the quality of the product. It is rather lightweight and the screw head falls out easily and will probably be lost soon. For the price, I was expecting better quality.
