Zibra ZPCOPEN-OR Open It Universal Package Opener
I ordered one opener several weeks ago and found it so usful and satisfactory I ordered several more for family members and friends. Frankly, I forgot I had ordered the first one from Amazon, so I ordered directly from Zibra. There was some delay and a number of problems with the shipment, but Zibra resolved all issues promptly and satisfactorily. I want to commend them for prompt, exceptional and friendly service and will recommend their products to all my friends.

Opening the hard clamshell packaging had always been difficult. Occasionally I wouldn't consider purchasing a product if it came in that kind of packaging, or I would request that a salesperson open it for me. After recently having carpal tunnel surgery, opening a product in this kind of packaging was an impossibility. This handy, easy to use item does the trick every time. It is effortless to use. Soon after receiving this, I had to open a hard plastic casing for something else I bought. Normally, this would take me quite a while and probably an injury or two as the plastic would cut my skin.
With this little device, I had the thing opened and being used within 30 seconds with no injury. At Christmas, considering I'll be visiting three kids, this will come in EXTREMELY handy since all kids' toys now seem to have hard plastic or insane packaging that would be easily removed with this.
I'd recommend this to anyone who has ever fought with any packaging for more than a minute.

The Zibra worked fine to start with -- not the easiest tool to use, since it's akin to using garden shears to open a box, but adequate. Then the flimsy plastic piece that allowed you to keep it closed broke. That made it difficult to impossible to use the razor or screwdriver because they're awkward to use when it's scissored open. Now the blades have gotten too much play in them and it doesn't even cut packages well -- I think the plastic casing is just too flimsy. It's an ordeal trying to saw it through each package. I just ordered a new cutter from a different brand -- I'll see if that works better.Customer Review: Extremely useful - Worth Every Penny

How did I live without this tool?
I got one for Christmas and I have found myself reaching for it every time I open a new purchase. It has something for everything you might open - the heavy shears for cutting hard plastic shells, nylon package wrapping bands, etc. And a box cutter for slicing shipping tape.
It's a shame the box cutter doesn't have a replaceable blade.
It also has a tiny Phillips and flat head screwdriver in the other handle (opposite the box cutter blade), but it's so small as to not be very useful.
The bottom line? If you want a tool to make life easy opening all those hard plastic shells - this is it! Clever angle to the shears prevents the plastic "shards" from aiming towards your fingers as you cut.
