The Zircon stud finder has been a gem in my toolbox for the past 60 days or so of ownership. Just bought a new house with the confidence-wilting array of projects: hanging pictures, shelves, blinds, window coverings, mounting furniture to the wall so that things don't tip in event of earthquake (rare) or my 3 year old son trying to climb "everest" (he does this all the time). This Zircon has been fantastic in ensuring each project goes great, no fuss finding stud locations, a/c current lines, steel in the walls ... you name it. The pencil / marking trigger is super - and the DVD included is well worth it. Only caveat is that it has a hard time with the lathe layer under stucco - so one must be reasonable in how much this tool can in fact "see through walls".Customer Review: Poor performance on anything but interior drywall.

Used on smooth finish exterior plaster. Multiple false signals left me with 3 holes in my wall and no studs. Clumsy spring loaded multiple piece design turns it on when held against the wall - I found it to be odd. Good display and convenient built in marker but its got to be accurate to be useful. It was accurate on interior drywall but no more accurate than my old $10 one when tested side by side. Why spend the money?Customer Review: Pricey but an Excellent Tool

This thing is awesome. Works so easily and quickly. It's a bit pricey so I hesitated but I'm sure glad I bought it. Just using it for my home and already being borrowed by envious friends. It would have received 5 stars but along with the cost, it didn't come with any type of case to keep it safe. I purchased a Dewalt angle driver at the same time so I added some Velcro in the top part of that case to hold my multiscanner along with a level and tape measure and wa-la! I now have one case that holds everything you need to do some hangin'. I should have purchased this years ago.Customer Review: Stud finder

The Zircon multiscanner i700 is very easy to use and finds the center of the stud very quickly. It has a built-in marker which is very helpful. I have another Zircon multiscanner, but it only finds the leading edge of the stud; therefore you must pass over the stud and scan back to find the other edge and mark the center. The i700 is far superior.
