Tools and Hardware Reviews of Zojila 'Rohan' Dish Rack Drainer Utensil holder and Drain board, Stainless Steel Self Draining

Customer Review: A lovely and well made project --nearly there
Summary: 4 Stars

I've just received my Rohan dish rack and it's a lovely piece of sculpture that is also practical on the kitchen. It's not small at all--the space is sufficient for dishes from a meal for four people. It doesn't 'flip over' the way one reviewer stated--how can it, when the dishes are over its center of gravity? The drainboard worked perfectly. Generally, this is a well designed product.

Now for the matters that could be improved. The silverware caddy has an inadequate 'hook'. When you remove the silverware, the caddy comes off the rack with it. This is a shame and it would be fixed if the 'hook' extended down another half inch or so.
I have old fashioned silverware and there was no problem with anything slipping through the open sides of the rack, though it would be a problem for small items like corn holders and so on.

I'd appreciate some cup or mug holders on the side. I'll have to purchase these from another manufacturer.

I'm also going to put some wax into the vertical posts that the 'ball feet' insert into--since there is a chance water can accumulate here and create a moldy situation, albeit a small one.

Otherwise, this is a good update of a product that is usually a very badly designed mold factory in the kitchen.

Summary: 5 Stars

You can do the math but I'll save you the time: out of 60 reviews - 61 counting mine- 54 have 4 or 5 stars. I've gone through my share of strainers and here is why I absolutely agree with the rave reviews:

1. It was practically ready to use - right out of the box. Of course, we had to unwrap it and take off all the packaging material. But it only took a few minutes to do that and then place the utensil holder where we wanted it.

2. This can be used on either the right or left side of a sink. Expensive? Yes, but less pricey than a dishwasher and a great aid if you don't have one, have a small family, or just want to save some energy (dishwasher energy, not human energy spent washing the dishes...but then, even those with dishwashers may wash and rinse the dishes first).

3. Although some reviewers have noted that they needed to adjust the slant of the drainer to get water to flow directly into the sink (and not on counters), we didn't have to do a thing. It worked perfectly.

4. We've never found a dish drainer designed so well. We have brand new counter tops and I wanted to minimize drips and stains. I had no idea we could find a rack drainer that completely eliminated major drips. I do take care to wipe our counters daily but it is no longer a headache dealing with my dish drainer. Older models would be a pain to use, leaving such a mess! I was tempted to put everything in the dishwasher but I prefer the energy savings of this dish rack. We have plenty of meals where a simple dish drainer holds everything we've used.

Here is my only CAUTION:

If you have a large family, this won't hold your dishes. It is smaller than many other dish racks we've used but it uses the space given very effectively. There is a metal "board" under the rack and it is also tilted so that water is less likely to spill. Finally, a TIP on how to get the best use of this: don't use it on the side of your sink where you have a sprayer. Depending on your sprayer, you'll have splashes, sometimes major, on the drainer. Avoid that and put it on the other side of the sink. That way, the only water going into the drainer will be from wet dishes, utensils, and glasses...and this drainer can handle all of that moisture and feed it into the sink.

Yes, it is pricey, but if anyone knows of a better product, I'm definitely interested!

Customer Review: At Last

At last a dish drainer that drains into the sink. Previous drainers would always turn into lab exeriments because the water would pool in the center. Nice product - Fast Shipping.

Customer Review: Beautiful
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this dishrack drainer based on previous comments. I was not disappointed. Having just had a granite countertop installed with undermounted stainless steel sinks, I wanted something that would continue the "look". Not only is it beautiful, but also very functional. I highly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Beautiful and Sturdy. Excellent Customer Service
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this dish drainer; it's beautiful and sturdy but after 4 months of use I have to agree with other reviews on two things. First, the utensil holder is poorly designed. There is a gap in the middle so when you stick utensils in, it is likely to miss and fall out of the holder. It should have a piece of metal on the holder to prevent the utensils from falling out. Second, the legs are a bit too high. It could be a bit shorter but otherwise, it is an excellent product. I would buy another one if those 2 issues are fixed. 5 stars for the customer service and 4.5 stars for the dish drainer.
