Tools and Hardware Reviews of Zojila 'Rohan' Dish Rack Drainer Utensil holder and Drain board, Stainless Steel Self Draining

Customer Review: Fantastic, streamlined dish rack!
Summary: 5 Stars

We just redid our kitchen with some stainless appliances and accents, and I wanted a sturdy but small stainless dish rack to match. Our sink has an integrated drainboard, so we didn't use the drainboard that came with it. I was very pleased with this dish rack. It's small but fits a lot of items, it has no plastic so it doesn't get gunky like some of the cheaper dish racks, and the plates fit very well in the vertical plate slots. Overall, it has a beautiful design that is also very functional. LOVE IT! Everyone has been asking me where we got it because it is so attractive.

Customer Review: Finally, a great dish drain!
Summary: 5 Stars

I replaced my dish drains all the time - the wood ones were never big enough or the right shape, the cheapie plastic ones become cloudy and disgusting, the chrome ones got rusty, and most of the stainless ones had a plastic pan anyway. I was never happy until I found this one - it has all the features I was looking for - it holds a lot, looks great, and is smartly designed. Several visitors have commented on it. My mother was so impressed, she purchased herself one the next day. Worth the pricetag.

Customer Review: Functional design comes at a cost
Summary: 4 Stars

It is a sad commentary on the current state of kitchen design, but this is the only dish drain that doesn't slavishly imitate all of the other crummy "rack on a mat" models out there. The drain part is truly innovative in its simplicity: a gently curved sheet of stainless steel, raised on legs and tilted towards the sink. Water drips from the rack onto the drain, rolls towards the middle, and spills over the edge into the sink. If only the rubber feet were less hard and more sticky, so that the thing wouldn't slide on the counter every time you touch it; if only the rack itself were large enough for the dinner dishes and pots and pans of at least two people; if only the thing were not soooo ridiculously over-priced. It should last forever. I'll continue keep my eyes open for the manufacturer that takes the basic design innovation of this drain and improves on it. If there is a market for dish drains in this price range, someone will surely build a comparable or better one for less. As for now, this is the best I have seen or used.

Update: Ok, I've used this for several months now, and would like to add these comments: First, the utensil holder is so poorly designed that I have replaced it with a cheapo wire basket. Take a good look at the photo of the utensil holder: it is open-sided. It's been a regular source of aggravation for me, as my forks, spoons, and knives would regularly drop out through the open side. You can't see it from the photos, but the steel sides are folde over to form the bottom of the utensil holder, and there is a narrow gap between the bottom and the side in two places. Table knives, and sometimes forks, will slip through the gap between the sides and the bottom and become wedged there. That is simply unacceptable for an appliance that is marketed as high-end design. The utensil holder also slides right off of the end of the dish rack onto the counter or into the sink if you're not careful. My second complaint is that the drain board is too short at the back side. I alluded to this in my initial comment. Even though placed in the wire rack, pots, pans, and lids hang close enough to the edge that they drain directly onto the counter. I mean, what's the point? How much more would an extra half-inch of stainless steel cost? I would demote this to three stars if I could figure out how. It's a good effort, but I maintain that it is waaay over-priced for what it is. Considering the design short-comings, price and shipping, this is not a good value. Too bad it's the best there is.

Customer Review: Functional, Stylish and Sturdy
Summary: 5 Stars

This looks good on the counter and the self draining works. It easily dismantles into two pieces and fits under the sink so I don't have to surrendur precious counter space.

It also passed the most rigorous durability test available, my three year old. During one of those classic moments when I had to get the telephone and was distracted and my toddler decided it was a good idea to take the pots and the dish drainer and bang them together. He was not able to demolish it and I got there quick enough that there were no dents.

While I can't say this test was as comprehensive as consumer reports after living with a toddler I have learned to value products that withstand our real life durability testing. I speak from experience my cell phone did not survive being tossed that in the open washing machine while I was loading it with laundry so when I have a product that survives the escapades of my favorite little guy I take notice.

Great product well worth it.

Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a nice quality dish drainer for my newly remodeled kitchen. I coudn't believe this drainer had so many reviews! But now that I have the drainer on my new corian counter, I too want to rave over the drainer. It is made really nice and looks so much better than a big plastice mat and drainer. It is actually a feature in the kitchen. It arrived fast and was packaged really nicely. I love the way it stands on little leggs and it drains perfectly into the sink. Well worth the cost!
