Tools and Hardware Reviews of iRobot 330 Scooba Floor-Washing RobotCustomer Review: Decent product, not as spectacular as Irobot claims Summary: 3 Stars
This is a decent product if you are okay with lots of noise and pre-preperation before you start using it. I have to block off many areas so it does not get stuck and then make sure it cant get onto my carpets (which it will do, despite their claims that it avoids carpet).
If you use this to essentially sterlize already fairly clean floors, it works well, but it will not pick up heavier messes and has a very small filter for debris which can get filled easily...
Customer Review: Died before completing first run Summary: 1 Stars
My iRobot came in two days ago and I was really excited about testing it out. I charged it over night as recommended and filled up the tank with the cleaning fluid. It spun around a few times and the light started blinking red. It gave me an out of battery message. I plugged it back in to recharge it some more and then i got a "charger failed" message. After playing around with it a few times, i kept on getting the out of battery/charge failed message.
I am trying to contact customer service for a replacement. Needless to say, I was very disappointed that it couldn't even do one round of cleaning before dying.
Customer Review: Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
This one is not as good as I thought. It leaves a wet trail, I have to go behind it and dry the floor, and it gets stuck easily, so I have to baby sit and make sure is doing its job. I will actually like to return it.
Customer Review: Disposable Product Summary: 1 Stars
My 5800 worked about 15 times before a series of unrelated problems began. Check tank light, getting stuck in the middle of the floor, leaving a lot of water, etc. Finally, the Service light came on. I called iRobot and was told that once the Service light comes on, the unit is pretty much dead. They offered me 15% of a replacement battery, in case that was the problem, but the rep didn't sound very confident that the problem was indeed the battery. So while I was really excited about this product at first, my experience leads me to recommend anyone against buying it. Its cost per use came out to $20 per wash, at best.
Customer Review: Do Not Buy This Product Summary: 1 Stars
This is a great concept; the execution is lousy. Like most of the other reviewers, I thought this gizmo was the greatest thing since sliced bread. After several months of infrequent use (maybe 10 cycles altogether) the "check tank" error message began to appear intermittently. The machine had been scrupulously maintained per the instructions. Initially, clearing the feed valve solved the problem. After a few more uses, it refused to start. I haunted the self-help sites and diligently applied every fix I could find. Nothing worked. Scooba powers on, "check tank" light comes on, then nada. All valves were clear. I finally called iRobot to find out about repairs. Get this: there are NO service centers and iRobot does not offer repair service. Pretty remarkable for a $300+ gadget that comes with only a one year warranty. Run a search on "Scooba check tank error"; there are literally thousands of entries, so mine was not an isolated problem. So there it is; for the money you may get light automatic floor cleaning for a year (if you're lucky); after that, you've got an expensive doorstop. And you're on your own as far as repairs go.
