Customer Review: What a SMART product!

I live in an 900 Square foot apartment that has mostly hardwood floors, with a small area rug in each room. (with no fringe on the rugs)
There are basically 3 rooms that we use this for, the living room, the bedroom, small home office 10 x 10, and a long hallway.
Simply, this thing works, and works well.
Each time I set it down, in it's starting point, in the room, it immediately remembers the pattern of the room from it's previous cleaning.
It took me a while to sell my wife on this product, but after she saw how efficiently it cleaned under the bed, without her needing to get under there with swiffer's, she was sold!
The only real downside of roomba, seems to be the little extra time it takes to clean the unit. They provide a small tool for cutting hair from the rollers, and you can disassemble the rollers, but it gets a little messy. For me it's worth it, for a product that does such a thorough job. It really is very clever and ultimately a time saver in the end.

Pretty good machine. Got it for a good price and since have bought the dock and virtual walls. Please remember this is the basic model so you just get enough to get the roomba going and thats it. But even after I vacuum, it seems to always find something and I run it when I leave for work so it does its job when I'm gone. I now find myself vacuuming less and not worring if my floors are clean!Customer Review: Works great, but don't buy the optional Drive-on Home Base

The iRobot Roomba 400 works great, and my wife loves it. It won't pick up everything, and doesn't have near the suction power of a normal vacuum cleaner, but leave it alone for twenty minutes and it does the job. My only complaint is that the 400 model doesn't fully work with the Roomba 4900 Self-Charging Drive-on Home Base. The 400 model doesn't have the technology to find or return to the Home Base, nor a button to tell it to do so, so the Roomba 400 will run until its battery wears out and ends up stopping anywhere in the room. You have to manually set the Roomba 400 on the Home Base for it to charge, and for $50+ the Home Base is a waste for this model.Customer Review: cheap and easy

It is a machine that is easy to work with. Although there are not too many fancy features, but it is good enough to finish its job. You just need to learn a little how it works, then it will save you tons of time and hassles. Imaging at this price, how much time you can save, then you will believe what I say that it is worthy.Customer Review: good but loud

you will know when this is running. i suggest you turn it on and leave the room, or better, leave the house and come back. you're not watching tv, reading, or listening to the yankee game when roomba's doing its thing.
other than that, seems to work fine and do a good job. picks up alot.
