Tools and Hardware Reviews of iRobot Scooba 350 Floor-Washing Robot

Customer Review: Totally worth the money!
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros

It really works and it's like a two for one, it sweeps/preps the floor and mops it.

It's fun watching your Scooba do all the work for you

easy to use and it feels so nice having clean/shiny floors. It works well on my parquet floor and it works well with whatever soap i use. I don't have the Chlorox solution in canada and vinegar is too stinky. I find dr. bronner's soap leaves a watermark so I use a natural soap i found at Canadian tire called "Blue Planet" multi-surface cleaner. i just put in approx a teaspoon/few squirts and the Scooba is never fussy about the concentration/ratio.

Cons:
expensive- But if I hired a maid to mop/sweep the floors 20-30 times, it would cover the cost of a Scooba.

cleaning the scooba - You have to remove the hair from the brushes, change the water twice per run. I don't mind cleaning the Scooba because I like gadgets so I find cleaning it tolerable.

**if you find that your vacuum filter remains clean and isn't picking up any dirt, it could mean that the vacuum is clogged. To unclog it, pull out the removable black rubber tube-like thing and flush that hole with lots of water, the clogged dirt should come out the other end.

Doesn't clean corners at all!

loud- but you learn to ignore it. Sounds like a vacuum.

Babysitting the Scooba - I would need to be at home when Scooba is in use in case it starts crying out to have the tanks filled or that it's stuck somewhere (doesn't happen often).

Overall it has improved my quality of life so even if I get a few years use out of it, I'll be very happy and would buy the Scooba again.

Customer Review: Wish Scooba was as good as Roomba

I really, really want to like the Scooba. In fact, I do love it--when it's working properly. We had our first Scooba for about two years before it died. I'd say we used it about once a week or so. One day it just wouldn't work. The battery said it was fully charged, the power light came on, but nothing happened. After reading some other reviews online, I thought it must be the battery and that it was my fault for leaving the battery plugged in even when not using for a few days. I ordered a new batter for iRobot; the same thing happens. My husband called iRobot to ask them if it can be sent in for repairs; we live in a small town and there is nowhere around here to take it to be repaired. After hearing how much it will cost for the repairs, he decides to take iRobot's offer of sending a replacement Scooba at a discounted price.
We've had our new Scooba for about a month now. It seems to work okay, although it doesn't seem to disperse water as much as the old one. I admit, it had been a while in between Scoobas that we had mopped, so there was a thin layer of grime on the hardwood floors. Scooba cannot even begin to scrub the floor to get this off. If used every day, it will keep the floors clean, but it has a hard time actually getting them clean the first time. I'll probably end up swiffering the whole floor and then letting Scooba do its thing.
Scooba works awesome on hardwood floors but really sucks on tile, especially with a little bit of texture. Our bathroom floor is 12x12 tile that has a slight texture to it. Scooba cannot get this clean; it leaves dirty water in all of the grout cracks in between the tiles. It also gets stuck on the door jamb in between the two floor surfaces. It also gets stuck on the edges of all of my rugs, so I have to roll them up out of the way to keep Scooba from getting stuck. Overall, I've liked Scooba enough to buy a replacement when it died. However, I'm not sure I'll replace it a second time because I'm not sure we're getting our money's worth.

Customer Review: good product which still has alot of room for improvement

as a floor scrubber and mop, it works great. now if only irobot can include maintainance guides on how to protect the soft/rubber parts and perhaps a docking option

I love Scooba. He is doing a great job on my white tile. I let him work about twice a week. I have not had to mob around him yet.
