Tools and Hardware Reviews of simplehuman KT1025 System Stainless-Steel Dish Rack

Customer Review: Nice!
Summary: 4 Stars

Well, this was very expensive for a dish rack, but I have to admit that it is very well designed. Plenty of space for glasses, cups, plates, nice cutlery compartments, stylish... If you don't mind the price tag (same price everywhere by the way), it's a great buy.

Customer Review: Nice, but has some design problems
Summary: 3 Stars

Best drying rack I've ever owned, but it has a couple of design flaws.

The pop up/down feet at the end of the drainboard, used to keep it elevated, keep falling into the down position, causing the drip-water to flow away from the sink.

The vertical space between the wires, on the long side are two wide(high). The space is large enough to let soup/cereal bowls fall through and onto the floor. I've broken four bowls/glasses in the 1 year that I've been using this rack.

One other small complaint, the accessory that hangs off the back for glasses/small items is too small. Can only fit three large or four small glasses on it.

Customer Review: No more Walmart Bargins
Summary: 5 Stars

Perfect product for those who do not own a dishwasher. I will never purchase a cheap dish rack from Walmart again.

Customer Review: Not only functional but attractive on your countertop, too!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have gone through a couple of dishracks before this one which were terrible. They would discolor, were difficult to wash, and were nothing to really look at. They also took up a lot of space on my counter. I love this one, though! It has parts that are dishwasher-safe, removable parts for when you have large platters to place in there, and a section for knives to dry separately from the rest of the flatware. I also love that you can position it vertically or horizontally depending on how much space you have. Both ways have a drainage spout to pour into the sink. The cupholders are fairly strong and are removable which is a plus. Overall, a great product, great quality and very stylish compared to most other products out there.

Customer Review: Not so good
Summary: 2 Stars

I do a lot of dishes as we have two little kids. This dish rack does a disappointing job stacking bowls and other assorted chinaware. The plate slots are shallow, meaning that you can't stack alternative items such as larger bowls etc. The cup holders are very meager and poorly positioned so that they stick out into the sink. On top of that, it doesn't drain very well as the drainage board is essentially flat. You have to tip the whole thing towards the sink (thus risking dishes sliding out of the shallow slots) in order to get the water out. For such an expensive dish rack it is a disappointment. What works much better is the older version of Rubbermaid's large dish drainer (not the newly redesigned one). You can pull out the cup hooks and drain twice as many cups on the side as the Simple Human one.
