Tools and Hardware Reviews of simplehuman Sensor Pump, for Soap or Sanitizer, Black, 14 OuncesCustomer Review: 4 years later - still love it! Summary: 5 Stars
After 4 years, this still works flawlessly. No issues as reported here except when either the soap level is very low, or the batteries are dying. Replace the batteries & works like a champ again.
Hoping to find these on sale as X-mas gifts - especially after seeing 2 cooks struggle with how to clean their hands after "hands-on" turkey prep for Thanksgiving!!
Customer Review: 50/50 chance that it will work out of the box Summary: 1 Stars
Bought a two pack at Sam's Club. One unit works perfectly but the other won't work properly. You must cover the sensor with your finger or hand to get anything to come out. Just to let everyone know the soap does come out so it is not an issue with the pump needing to be primed or anything else. The issue is you must cover the sensor on the bottom of the spout to get any soap to come out and there are varying amounts that come out depending on how long and how much you cover the sensor. I first sent Simple Human a support email and finally called them three days later because I hadn't received a followup. I'm told I could return it to Sam's Club but I would have to return both units including the one that works perfectly and is filled with soap. I am also concerned that the next box might contain a defective unit. The other alternative is wait for them to send me a return slip for the defective machine so I can send it back to them in CA. They will try to repair it and if they can't they will send another. Not happy because this will take a minimum of three weeks and on top of that where do I store all the soap in the machine I'm returning! I also suspect it isn't easy pouring the soap out of the unit. At least I only paid $30 for the pair so it isn't a huge loss and I can probably take them back to Sam's if I have to.
Customer Review: A Germaphobic's Dream Summary: 5 Stars
My husband is severely germaphobic. We've had a touchless garbage can in our kitchen for years and we love it. I got sick of him trying to pump the soap with his elbow, or worse, calling me from upstairs to come down and pump it for him. So, I looked into several automatic soap dispensers. Once this arrived, I put in the clear liquid soft-soap. I put it on the highest setting to release the most amount of soap; I don't think the smaller setting would be enough soap, so I'm glad it's adjustable. My husband came home from work and absolutely loved it. After a few days of using it, he asked me to buy more for each of our bathrooms. Today I purchased four more. It's a great product for any germaphobe, messy kids and normal people too!
Customer Review: A great dispenser for the price Summary: 5 Stars
Just bought this dispenser a few days ago, and it works even better than I expected. I have it on the lowest setting, and it gives just the right amount of soap. Plus, it looks great, isn't too big, and shows clearly how much soap is remaining. I couldn't be happier!
Customer Review: After excellent performance for three months, now it would not stop dispensing...help! Summary: 2 Stars
We love this gadget,...when it worked, that is. Several weeks ago, my husband noticed that this continuously dispensed soap when nobody or nothing was between the sensors. He removed the soap (whatever was left) and removed the batteries. When I saw it, I replaced the batteries and it worked again. This happened twice already.
Then today, my older son refilled it. While I was baking, I heard the running motor, and traced it coming from this. I tried the same trick as above, but this time it would not resolve. I wonder if anyone else had the same problem?
If anyone can help me troubleshoot this, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, the price for this only to give up on us after 3 months is just too much.
