Tools and Hardware Reviews of simplehuman Sensor Pump, for Soap or Sanitizer, Black, 14 OuncesCustomer Review: Certain soaps will cause problems Summary: 3 Stars
We were just about ready to send our pump back to the manufacturer for a replacement. We filled the pump with clear antibacterial hand soap which didn't seem especially thick. I did notice that there were small air bubbles suspended in the soap, which may have caused the problem. We tried following the insructions, and pulled the small plug where the soap is dispensed over and over again...but could not get it to work consistently. Before sending the pump back, I decided to try a different soap (white aloe vera moisturizing soft soap). Now the pump works like a champ! If we had tried the right soap from the start, I'm sure I would have given this product more stars.
Customer Review: Clogs up?!? Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this in the summer and it is not used very often in the kitchen. I am not a cook so I do not spend much time in there. I have found that when I need to use it it id clogged and nothing comes out. I have even added water to the soap hoping that by thining the soap t will come out and not clog. I end up having to run it under the water to unclog it to use it. so what was meant to be hands free now takes 2 hands to maybe get some soap out of it!
Customer Review: DON'T BUY IT! Summary: 1 Stars
It's doesn't work, period. Even after trying all the suggestions. Very aggravating and not worth a penny. Take note of all the other 1 and 2 star ratings. There is a reason there are so many.
Customer Review: DON'T PURCHASE! Summary: 1 Stars
While simplehuman non-electronic products seem OK, this soap pump is garbage. Why? It periodically gets itself stuck in "go" mode, using all soap and batteries. If you're home and hear it, you can turn the switch to "off" and hope it works later. After going through this routine several times, I took the batteries out to use in another item, and pitched the whole thing. What a monumental waste of money and resources (none of it is recycled or recyclable). I'm going back to my Williams-Sonoma pump - it's dependable 100% of the time, dispenses just the amount I want, and is recyclable.
Don't purchase this product!
Customer Review: Definitely looks better than it works! Summary: 1 Stars
Against the many negative reviews, I decided I would try my luck with this product. It looks so sleek & nice & matched wonderfully with my kitchen, that's where my happiness ended....It worked well for the first few weeks. After baout 2 wks, it started having trouble sensing my hands.
It did start to work regularly again, until the blue light started flashing uncontrollably, it did that for several hours then the dispenser just stopped working all togehter, another week went by & it worked for a few days & then back to the having trouble sensing, then back to the blue flashing light, this time, the light did not stop until the battery ran out.
Went to Wal-mart & bought the Lysol hands free soap dispenser, it's not as nice looking but at half the price & none of the problem, I'm staying with the Lysol brand one.
