I was looking at buying a stainless steel garbage can to match the rest of my kitchen, but heard great things about this garbage can. I thought, it's only $40 (purchased from Crate and Barrel) so why not, I'll try it. I LOVE IT. It blends into my cherry wood and black kitchen perfectly (I bought the black can). You can lock the garbage can if you need to. It is easy to put a new bag in, the top doesn't come off. Well built, nice look, love how can closes slowly. This trash can is perfect in every way. It is slimline so takes up a smaller area. You step on the pedal and the top opens ALL the way. It also never falls off. I have had this problem with similar trash cans. Simple Human sells trash bags for this can but they aren't necessary. You can use regular 13 gallon bags. If you need to lock your can it's simple to do and it works. I bought one of these for kitchen garbage. I liked it so well I bought two more for recycling. I like this item due to it's simplicity, well thought out design and it's dimensions.Customer Review: Better than any stainless steel waste can I've owned

Tired of cleaning a stainless waste bin? I was and this was the solution. It has faux steel accents which coordinate with my kitchen, yet, I am not constantly wiping handprints and accidental misses off the waste can. The air pump auto close mechanism like a dream and the locking device works great at keeping my 2 year and my smart lab out of the trash. It's slim profile lends itself to end of counter spaces or even near a kitchen island. 13 gal size is large enough so I am not constantly emptying and the wheels make it easily transported even when full.
I priced many waste bins with a plethora of questionable features and this one delivers practicality, functionality, and great design. Buy it!

I was so happy to see this design. I needed something on our deck to use for gardening detritus such as my deadheaded flowers. I also wanted something that did stick out and announce "Hi, I am your local trashcan." This one is simple, fits into a modest space and does not stick out. The tipping point for me was that there was a locking mechanism on it. I know it won't keep determined critters out but it will give them a moments pause. It is petty well bunny and skunk proof. I am not so sure about deer and we don't have any bears but overall it should help busy animals from looking for an easy mark.Customer Review: Dog hasn't gotten it open

We bought this trash can to keep our 65 pound dog from tipping the trash can and eating or shredding the contents while we are away. She can tip the can, but has been unable to open the lock. It has not dented when tipped and I really like it so far. I sometimes wonder if something heavier might be better, but this one is easy for me to move and carry.
