Customer Review: Dogs can get into this trash can!

I gave this item three stars because it is well made and if you are trying to keep children out of the trash can, I think it would be fine. However, I bought it to keep my dog out of the trash. He is a beagle/german shepard mix, and he was able to unlock it and get into the trash in less then 15 minutes (I was outside watering the plants). So, if you have a decently intelligent, medium to large size dog, the lock on this trash can will not stop him.Customer Review: EPIC FAIL

I bought this product b/c it looked nice and seemed well made. It is: no part has malfunctioned at all. Why one star? B/c the bottom of the Garbage can interior isn't flat. It has deep recesses on the side. Why? No clue. What is the result? Small sharp objects make their way into the bottom of the garbage bag, puncture it, then allow the garbage juice to seep into the recesses (Which are impossible to clean). Thanks Simple Human (Apparently VERY simple humans). As I write this I am In a 90 degree apt, inhaling the miasma of rotting chicken funk. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT! I can't speak to the quality of their other products (Other cans have removable liners), but this is an EPIC FAIL.Customer Review: Especially good value

I have found this model to be an economical, highly functional waste can, true to the product description. Though it is far less expensive than a metal can, it has the advantage of being very easy to keep clean - one can simply wipe it, inside or out, without the smearing and rust that can arise with the metal products. It fits snugly into a small kitchen, and the foot pedal and automatic, quiet closing are a pleasure. A friend of mine had a trash can by Simplehuman that I loved. Hers was the round metal style. I needed something less bulky for my new efficiency kitchen, which is all stainless and dark granite.
This fit perfectly! It's a nice, narrow design that that fits in the space I intended to place it, and holds a 13-gallon liner. The hydraulic system is wonderful and works very smoothly. It also has a lock to keep kids and pets out.

Needed a lided can for both garbage and recycle and wanted in black. This is perfect. very very happy. Ordering some bags to see if they are indeed better than Glad Forceflex.. Have a smaller can also for use in holding cat box stuff for a short period of time. It works very well too.
